- 01Isolated the hot side to confirm the leak was on the supply, not the drain.
- 02Used acoustic and thermal locating to pinpoint the leak within a 12-inch radius.
- 03Opened a single 18-inch section of slab, cut out the pinholed copper and replaced it with a rerouted PEX segment.
- 04Pressure-tested, patched the slab and left the flooring ready for the homeowner's installer.
The result
The leak was fixed in one day with one small floor opening instead of trenching the hallway. Water bill returned to normal the next cycle.
